Pioneer Days at Fort Toulouse

Ms. Andrea had told us about Pioneer Days at Ft. Toulouse/Ft. Jackson - since it was so close to us we had to go check it out. We spent the day wondering around the forts, "met" Davy Crockett, saw an Indian Stomp Dance, watched soldiers shoot the cannons and so much more. We felt like we had gone back in time. It was a great history lesson and a beautiful fall day!

More from Halloween '07

Halloween

We were able to go trick or treating in Concord, which the kids had really been looking forward to doing. We went to the Trunk or Treat at Concord Baptist, which was great! We loved getting to see everyone. We stayed with Ms. Jan and then went trick or treating with the Cardens and Mellowns also, just like we did last year. Josiah was Gilligan, since they've really gotten into watching "Gilligan's Island." (will they EVER get off the island?) Isaac was one of the Jonas Brothers, a Disney "rock" band, and Nathaniel was Batman. Each costume certainly suited their personalities!
