The Chapstick Tree

Anyone who has been around Jamey for a while knows that
he is "addicted" to chapstick . . .leave it to our creative friend
Barbara to bless Jamey with a one of a kind gift - a chapstick
tree! She's so creative.

It's never over until something gets rolled!

Jamey's car got rolled by some of the youth on our last night at Concord. It was priceless! Jamey thought it was all great and had to have pictures taken with some of the kids. Not quite sure how our boys got involved with this stunt!

Jamey's Journal

Well, Well, Well. Sunday was a great and terrible day. It is always a joy and privilege to serve as a pastor and to get to preach. However, Sunday was different. It was my LAST Sunday as pastor. It was my LAST sermon as pastor. It was my last chance to share my heart. I was led to the passage that I preached when I was in view of a call 5 years ago. The theme is the same now. . . follow Jesus. I had a big lump in my throat most of the day and really felt like crying. Then came Sunday night. Oh my word, what fun. There was people and food everywhere. Just like a good Baptist meeting. Our friends sent us off in style. I would be lying if I said that I didn't struggle. I really didn't want to have to say so long to so many. The tears could not be stopped and as I embraced so many, my voice cracked, my heart hurt But there was also great laughter. You can see the highlight of the evening. This is what I will look like in 20 years!?! My thanks to all that made Sunday bearable. Thanks to all of you that made our ministry at Concord so wonderful. Thank you for loving us. Thank you.

Summer is almost over!

Reflecting back over our summer, the highlight would have to be our trip to Texas! Combining a work trip with pleasure proved to be quite an adventure - driving to San Antonio, attending meetings, seeing the sights, visiting Schlitterbahn and Sea World, up to Fort Worth to see Isaac's "birthplace" and back home again. Quite an adventure filled with lots of fun memories!

An Honest Look at Change

We are in the process of change - something that can be good, but not necessarily painless and hassle-free. Change can have either a positive or negative connotation. Facing a job change, relocating to a place where you know nobody, having to find a new church home, leaving precious friends and a great church family . . . all of these seem negative . . .but that's when you remind yourself that following the Lord isn't always the easy option. You have to trust in His leadership and believe that HE is in control. We are thankful that there is some calm in the midst of chaos! So bring on the changes - with anticipation and baited breath we wait to see how the Lord will stretch and grow us. Until then, we remind ourselves that we are so blessed. Our children are healthy, we have each other and for our salvation we will be eternally grateful! For these things we are so thankful.

Two of my favorite things in the
whole wide world - the beach at sunset
and my sweet boys! This was taken during
our beach trip in August.
